Private tours in New Zealand

Recommended Posts

We were on the Sun Princess in November and did three private tours. First one was D-Tours in Dunedin. They gave us the best tour ever. We did the Northern coast of Dunedin and the Moreaki Boulders. It was fantastic and we got some great pictures. We saw seals along the coast, lighthouses, Baldwin street (the steepest street in New Zealand), the botanical gardens.

Then in Napier we used Bay Tours for some wine country tours. It was OK.

Then in Auckland we used Kauri Tours and it was also a great tour.

We went to the black beaches of Auckland on the other side of the Peninsula, saw the gannet birds nesting on the rocks out in the ocean, a winery, some of the city. It was great. I would highly reccomend both D-Tours in Dunedin and Kauri Tours in Auckland.

The rest of the ports we just walked around and did our own thing.

Do alot of research and you will find the best things to do.

Or you can always use the ships tours but they are very expensive.

Good Luck.:o

In January of this year we used Mount Classics for our shore excursions. They were very professional, on time, stopped when we needed to and went out of their way to show us what a great country NZ was. We had to cancelled a port because of weather and they credited our card that day. I would highly recommend them as we will be using them again in Jan 2011.
