What free food and drink do you get pls

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if Sorrennos is also available on Mariner (I know Johnny Rocket's is)

Unfortunately, no. This is only found on Freedom Class and Oasis (and soon, Allure).

There is the Promenade Cafe though, for which there is no charge. There are small sandwiches, pizza, fruit, cakes/donuts/cookies, as well as coffee, hot tea, hot chocolate, and ice water.

Yes, I went to guess services and deactivated the children's seapasses.

So you can do that, huh? You learn something everyday - especialy on CC!

And some kids can be 21!

My cousin has a relative that wishes he knew this little tidbit:

Recently my cousin and his wife went on a RCI cruise his the wife’s father and a host of relatives – party of 18 in all. 8 cabins, 5 different families, some with teenage and young adult children. Towards the end of the cruise, there was some confusion concerning the proper issuing of on-board credits, so my cousin’s wife was assigned the task of checking with the ship's purser in order to make sure that each cabin got their proper on-board credits. She’s a natural “take charge” kind of personality and is a real stickler for detail.

During the process, she discovered that one of her brothers’ 21 year-old son had run up over $2,500.00 in charges for alcohol and casino play on his parents’ SeaPass account.

I asked him, “Did you mention it to the parents?”

“Are you kidding?”, he replied. “But I sure would have liked to have been a fly on the wall of the car on the trip home after they saw their statement on the last day.”

I'll bet they wish it was just for milkshakes and video games!

Hi

Newbie here. I have trawling through the various threads to try and work out, what I will need to pay for when I get on board the ship (still deciding between Disney and RCL Allure).

I have worked out I ca buy a soda package for my DS. That we can get free tea/coffee/lemonade and water on board.

That I can eat at Jonny Rockets and pay 4.95 coverage.

We don't drink alcohol, so nothing to pay for that.

What other things do we need to pay for on board please, food and drink wise.

If we do a RCL cruise, it will cost us over £3,000.00 stirling, so its very expensive and I don't want to have to pay loads of extras once I get on board. I'm looking at a balcony cabin, hence the cost.

Thanks in advance.

If you are really concerned about the expense of some extra food and drink items then why don’t you look into getting an inside cabin for some real savings. The price difference between an inside cabin and a balcony can be substantial. I am seldom in my room, except for sleeping and changing, so the cost of a balcony just doesn’t make since to me. I know some of you will say “But it is worth the price” and that is fine. But if you are concerned about the cost of some small items I think this is a case of “Penny wise and pound foolish”.

Thank you for your suggestion. I have never cruised before, my Mum has and she said she felt closed in being in an inside cabin and didn't like it all, so this has put me off. As this is a once in a lifetime expereince, then I am wanting to push the boat out and have a cabin with a balacony, I imagine myself sitting there and having my breakfast. I just want to make sure we can afford, everything, so we are not penny pinching if we do go on a cruise. The cruise will be very expensive for us, as I will also have flights from the UK, plus we are staying on land for a week, probably on site at Disney. Maybe if we like this cruise then the next one would be inside or only a sea view. It will depend on cost if we were to go again. But I was made redundant from the Tax Office (IRSF I think its called in the states), and this is a present to myself and my family for the 30 years that I worked there, and I want it to be special.

I have not been on RCI since last year. I heard they charge for steaks in the dining room? Is that correct?

...one more thing, do they really charge for room service delivery?

The sirloin is no charge. You can pay $15 (USA) or so for a 12oz filet, and we did this for my wife's birthday. It was good.

Room service charge? Only between something like midnight and 5am. However, you should tip a $1 (USA) or so if you use it other times. Cafe Promenade is usually open 24 hours, so you can always go there if you have the late night munchies.

Also if your kids use Adventure Ocean, you should tip the councelors something, maybe $2 or $3 per day depending on usage and quality.

For us, the cruise is the vacation. We often stay on the ship at ports. It is a nice quiet time. Plus it saves the cost of a shore excursion. But my wife has multiple scleroris, so shore excursions are not always possible anyway. You can always visit the ports on your own, walking around seeing the shops and restaurants that are often right off the ship. There is no charge to leave and reboard the ship.
