Tampa and New Years

We are leaving from Tampa on 1/2/11 on the Ryndam. I am deciding between two downtown properties; the Hyatt and Embassy Suites. We arrive at the airport on 1/1 just after the Outback bowl starts. The Hyatt is the "SEC" team hotel. Which would you choose?

 

Has anyone stayed in Tampa during this time? How did the bowl game affect your stay? Is there something after the game we should not miss?

Any Tampa -ites out there - will places be open or affected by Outback Bowl on Jan 1 2011.
