ldw81 Posted June 22, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 22, 2010 Is there a liquor store at the port where we can purchase wine before boarding?
rawbdee Posted June 22, 2010 #2 Share Posted June 22, 2010 Not right by the port. The port is in a night life area called Channelside so I think a liquor store would be bad for business. But if you are coming from the airport, you should be able to stop along the way. Happy sailing! :D
tbjl24 Posted June 22, 2010 #3 Share Posted June 22, 2010 Ask the cab driver to take Kennedy instead of 275 to the port. It will take a bit longer but you will pass at least 2 liquor stores on the way. Keep in mind you can't buy alcohol until 11am on Sundays. If you are just buying wine, any grocery store will work too.
JerseyshoreBruce Posted June 22, 2010 #4 Share Posted June 22, 2010 There is one about 3-4 blocks from the port. Your so lucky...thats a great port to leave from!
SkyMaster Posted June 22, 2010 #5 Share Posted June 22, 2010 Yep, several liquor stores on the way from the airport to the port. Like tbjl24 said though, be aware that you can't buy liquor until 11 A.M. on Sunday, if you're sailing "Legend". GREAT ship, and wonderful port. Have a super cruise. Ehpride Posted June 22, 2010 #6 Share Posted June 22, 2010 There is a wine store at Channelside called Wine Designs. If you go down the sidewalk toward channelside from the port, you'll notice a hallway that goes to the interior and it's right along there before you get to the courtyard. They have a pretty good selection of wines and they've been very friendly and helpful so if you have any questions about what to buy, I'm sure you can ask them for suggestions. Kissyfur19 Posted June 22, 2010 #7 Share Posted June 22, 2010 There is a wine store at the port as a PP mentioned. Small store with a good selection though. The best liquour store on the way to the port from the airport is Total Wine & Spirits...it's on Dale Mabry just North of 275 (in the same plaza as Home Depot and Target). HUGE store with a great selection of wines & liquour and excellent prices. The closest one to downtown otherwise is next to the Walmart Neighborhood Market on Kennedy...which is a $3 cab ride from anywhere downtown. BlueSkyTraveler Posted June 22, 2010 #9 Share Posted June 22, 2010 Wine at the Tampa Port - http://www.tampawinedesign.com As far as when to get there, we arrived for our cruise on the Inspiration at around 11:45am. When we left the ship on Saturday at 10am people were already lining up to check in for the next sailing. Will you be parking, or dropped off?
