Please give me Carnival Destiny feedback...

Hi. We are thinking of going on the Carnival Destiny next spring with some friends. I have been on the Imagination, Fascination, Freedom, Liberty, Valor, and Splendor - but not the Destiny. TIA!

I will post a review, when I get back. This time 48 hours from now I should be about 5 miles off Miami Beach on the Destiny. :)

I was on the Destiny for my last cruise and it was great! We had a balcony room (which completely spoiled us and we'll never cruise without a balcony cabin again) and the food in the MDR was awesome! It was a very clean ship and we had the best room steward! It has the seaside theater which was great at night. You will enjoy Destiny!!:)

I sailed on the Destiny for my first cruise in October 2009- it was awesome :). Supposedly there were propulsion issues or something like 2-3 weeks before our cruise, but I never noticed anything out of the ordinary. I felt the ship's movement a lot more on my last cruise on the Fantasy, actually.

 

You'll have such an awesome time- seriously!

A few of our friends were disappointed about the condition of the ship and we had to miss Key West because of the problems the ship was having. My husband and I have gone on several cruises and we were okay with the condition of the ship, but would not recommend anyone else to go on it. I am a TA so I do not recommend this ship to others. Maybe once it goes through a complete dry dock it will be better, but as far as I know it has not. I will say I thought the food was excellent and I loved how big our Oceanview stateroom was. Hope this helps.

I had similar experiences with the Destiny, but that was in 08. I believe it was forced into dry dock in 09 to fix that propulsion problem and has been running better ever since. Recent reviews seem to be happy with the ship condition and say that the Destiny is great so hopefully everything has been worked out. I still wouldn't recommend this ship to others as there are so many other ships in the fleet that I find amazing.
