Shopping in Montego Bay

You can shop for souvenirs right off the ship.

The cruise terminal is packed with small shops with t-shirts, hat, native art, liquor and 'jewelry.'

It's pretty much the same stuff you can find in town. If you're interested in shopping for watches and such you'll have to go downtown.

For additional input I'd urge you to visit our Ports of Call board for Jamaica:

Just like Mach said, you can shop as soon as you get off the ship. But, one bit of advice here, those locals are pushy, pushy, pushy. Get ready for an experience dealing with them being so pushy. But, it is one place where you can wheel and deal with them. Some are pretty desperate and you can really deal with them.;)
