IMCruisin2 Posted February 7, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 7, 2005 I believe I read on these boards that next year (2006) will be the last season for the majesty's Boston/Bermuda cruise. I went to a TA today who told me that this coming up season (2005) will be her last. I don't have a lot of confidence in the info from the TA. Can someone out there tell me when her last Bermuda season is and is she just relocating or is she actually leaving the fleet? Thanks!
shoreguy Posted February 7, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 7, 2005 I don't believe a date has been announced but NCL has stated that all the small and mid-sized ships will leave the fleet as they bring the new builds online over the next 2 years. basketballmom Posted February 7, 2005 #3 Share Posted February 7, 2005 According to several NCL staff, including Tatiana, on our Majesty cruise in 8/04, 2006 is the last season for the Majesty to go to Bermuda. I hope they didn't change anything because we booked a different cruise for this summer in anticipation of sailing the Majesty during her final season in 2006. Copper_beeches Posted February 7, 2005 #4 Share Posted February 7, 2005 I looked for the august '06 cruises, and all I could find was up to the last Charleston cruise in April '06 for her... I'm thinking there may not be a 2006 Bermuda season:(
pathubia Posted February 7, 2005 #5 Share Posted February 7, 2005 We booked for August, 2005. I wonder what will be taking her place out of Boston? I wonder if they will ever do an itinerary similar to the Dawn's out of NYC. They do have the Canada cruises but I would rather cruise south. I would like to cruise to the Bahamas without flying anywhere. Patty
Dolphins Posted February 7, 2005 #6 Share Posted February 7, 2005 Norwegian Crown which sails to Bermuda out of new York is also expected to by phased out. Wonder what ships NCL will use to Bermuda since the larger ones can't get into St. George and may have problems docking in Hamilton?
basketballmom Posted February 8, 2005 #7 Share Posted February 8, 2005 Cruises for 2006 Bermuda season won't listed until sometime late in March or early in April according to TA. The Majesty has a contract to use the Ordinance Island pier in St. George's, Bermuda until the end of the 2006 season. Other than the Crown (which has a contract for Penno's Wharf (behind the Majesty), no other NCL ships can make the cut into St. George's. I don't think NCL would waste the last season of the contract and lose money by not sending the Majesty to Bermuda for the 2006 season. As for the cut being widened, Bermudians aren't really for it. But who knows what will happen in the end......
