Boarding prcedures at San Juan for Serenade

Recommended Posts

Hi

We live in the UK but our daughter and family live in the USA.

We are joining together for a cruise on Serenade in August. However our bookings have different arrangements. Our daughter has a US based package deal - flight, hotel and cruise.

We have a cruise only deal with flights booked seperately.

Now the question!

Our instructions say boarding after 2pm only. Our daughter seems to be picked up at the hotel (Caribe Hilton)

So - can we board earlier than 2pm - I see from this board that people talk of boarding much earlier.

Are people such as our daughter on a US package - booked in at the hotel or the ship and at what time.

Any info would be usefu

Many thanksl

On our recent Serenade cruise people were boarding at around noon, if not a little earlier than that. You definitely do not need to wait until 2 p.m.

It sounds like your daughter and family have purchased the complete package through RCI which includes transfers from airport to hotel to ship.

You, on the other hand, have only booked your cruise through RCI, therefore you must provide your own pre-cruise accommodations plus transportation to the ship.

Upon arrival at the San Juan airport your daughter and family will find the RCI rep in the baggage claim area and this person will instruct them as to where their transportation to the hotel from the airport will be located. It may be a large bus. On embarkation day they will be taken to the pier by whatever means RCI provides and at a specific time (it all depends on the number of passengers that have purchased a pre- cruise package and whether there are other stops along the way to pick up other passengers at other hotels).

They should know their departure time from the hotel to ship when they get their cruise docs. Departure time from hotel to ship should be listed on their transportation voucher from hotel to ship that is including with the e-docs.

We just did a cruise on Serenade this past April and check-in started at 11:30AM.
