when it is time for your final payment, do they e-mail a few days before, or do they just excpet you to know?

if you booked by yourself the payment is due 70 days before your cruise as a group is 90 days. Do not take anything for granted. Remind yourself that fee is due.

Hi:

When you book with RCl, they will fax you a copy of the invoice (if you have access to a machine). They should tell you at that time when final payment is due, so mark it on your calendar. Otherwise it is up to you to make sure you get final payment in time. If you are paying any way but credit card, do not wait til the last minute to send it in as they must have the check already cleared by final payment date.

Oh, the two times I have booked with RCL directly, they have NOT sent me a reminder. I don't know if they would if you booked it on line or not.

The only invoice faxed was at the time of booking or when deposit was paid, if we requested it and gave them the fax number. Then it's been up to us to know when to make final payment. In fact, for individuals, they do not keep the fax number on the booking record, and you must provide it each time you want them to fax you anything.

I booked through Travelocity. When final payment was due they just charged it to my credit card on which I gave the deposit.

The do not send a reminder as fellow posters, have noted. But, we found if we put on initial deposit down with RCL and pick our cabin, we usually assign it to some on-line TA who price is better than RCL/Celebity. Cases in point, 2/19/05 Naviagtor $529.oo off, Millie 8/13/04 $900. off, Connie 7/30/05 $700. off. The TA usually work on a 18-20% commission for the cruises from RCL and Celebrity, so if you book just through the company they are keeping it all, while a lot of on-line TA will give you some of that back.
