trevgbb Posted July 16, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 16, 2010 Doesn't matter to me, I have never been in, but I am sure I saw an announcement that the casino will be closed from the 26 July on the round UK voyage, but cannot find it again!!

My guess is that this may well have something to do with UK gaming laws. From what I can make out from the itinerary the port calls on 23, 24, and 25 Jul are Cherbourg, Cork, and Dublin respectively. After that, the port call on 26 Jul is Liverepool and that and all the subsequent port calls are in the UK, so it may be that the casino is not allowed to open. phoebecat Posted July 16, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 16, 2010 Yes, that's correct. UK gaming laws (which will include the Belfast port of call after Liverpool) mean the casino will be closed for the rest of the voyage. Best get those gaming urges satisfied in the first few nights then!
BritNavyGal Posted July 22, 2010 #4 Share Posted July 22, 2010 It will probably be closed, I hate to say. When we sailed on the 5th anniversary around the British Isles last year, the casino was closed for most of the time as we were within a specific number of miles from the shore and the UK gaming laws applied. The only time that the casino opened was when we left Cork, Ireland and sailed to Cherbourg, France. I love to play craps once in a while and am hoping that the casino won't be closed during circumnavigation around Australia. Does anybody know the gaming laws for Australia and if the casino will be closed then? I hope not :o
