Pacemaker36 Posted February 6, 2012 #26 Share Posted February 6, 2012 Did you really - 50K - great going! Well if you want my tickets for December 2012 they could be for sale! Another question - Were all 370 players from Satellite tournament winners or did they open up seats for a certain price? If so how much was it to buy a seat. I heard from $800.00 - $1,200 but that's not confirmed. Wanted to know cause if I go and a friend wants to get into the tournament he wants to know. popapez Posted February 6, 2012 #27 Share Posted February 6, 2012 Thanks :) I actually won a seat to the 2012 tournament too for winning, but thanks. They had 348 from satellites throughout the year I believe. They capped it at 360 people, so they ran $200 satties on that ship the day before the tournament started. They also let people buy in for $1000 I think it was.
johneeo Posted February 6, 2012 #28 Share Posted February 6, 2012 Yes, exactly. A lot of people playing that really have no idea about the game haha :) You mean the ones that call your all in bet trying to hit the inside straight, and procede to do so?
NoFold'emHold'em Posted February 29, 2012 #29 Share Posted February 29, 2012 I will be on the April 21st, 2012 cruise on Oasis of the Seas. I am interested in locating poker players who like to play Limit Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo 8 or Better, 7 Stud, 7 Stud Hi/Lo 8 or better, and RAZZ. $5/$10 minimum, prefer $10/$20 or $20/$40. I love poker but I will not play on a computer table. I can play internet poker on BOVADA anytime. Just post here if you are interested.

mstums Posted March 27, 2012 #37 Share Posted March 27, 2012 Just returned from Allure of Seas March 18-25. I played in the satellite tournament. Yes you can charge the $100 satellite fee to your sea pass card. There is no additional charge. On our cruise they held 8 satellites with 9 players in each. I believe they had 9 satellites scheduled but only filled 8 of them. The satellites were held over 3 days. You should sign up earlier than the scheduled start times. If you wait until right before the start time the spots will probably be all ready filled. You sign up at the casino cashier. The winner of each of these satellites played on the last night. The winner received a free cruise for two on the Oasis Dec 8 2012 sailing (estimated value $1800) and the entrance fee (estimated $800-$1200) to the $100,000 tournament being held on that cruise . 2nd place received $1175 and 3rd place received $525. All poker (tournament and cash games) is played on the machines. As somebody mentioned previously, the tournament goes very fast. My satellite lasted about 1 hour and the final table lasted abour 1 hour and 10 minutes. I am an avid live poker player and never had played on the machines before and was leary to do so. After a few rounds (for both tournament and cash), you get used to them and then you quickly appreciate how many more hands you get to play in a given time frame because of how swiftly the games get played. The live cash game usually began around 10pm and lasted until the casino closed usually 3am or 3:30 am. The cash game was $1/$2 no limit. My cruise had several experienced players and most everyone bought in for at least $300. Almost every hand had a pre-flop raise of at least $8-$10. A few people bought in for the $50 minimum and they were usually one buy in and done. The big winner usually won $400-$500/night. Of other note is the table game Ultimate Texas Holdem. This was popular for the poker regulars and was open whenever the table games in the casino were open. If you have never played before, do some research before you go on your cruise. It is a lot of fun and is a game that you can play for awhile (assuming you play smart) without getting murdered like you can in blackjack, craps, caribbean stud, 3 card poker, etc.
