kayak99 Posted July 24, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 24, 2010 Relatives are taking a Celebrity cruise from Baltimore in December 2010. Coming from New Jersey they'd like to avoid driving in Baltimore. Is there any type of transportation from the Wilmington, DE area to the Baltimore Port? Thanks!
Pessa's Mom Posted July 24, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 24, 2010 Maybe best way is train to Baltimore Penn Station and then cab. Other Marylanders?
DrJJ Posted July 24, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 24, 2010 The entrance to the Baltimore Cruise Port is literally only a few minutes from I-95, the route any driver would take to Baltimore from the North. Parking is easy too. There is no reason to Park in Wilmington and take other transportation to the Port. From the Port Website: Directions from points North: Follow I-95 South through the Ft. McHenry Tunnel, be sure to be in the right lane when going through the tunnel. Take Exit 55, Key Highway. Turn left at the traffic light onto East McComas Street. Follow the signs to the South Locust Point Cruise Terminal entrance on the right. Baltimore cruise parking is easy. No advance reservations are required to park in the lot located on the South Locust Point Marine Terminal. Ample long-term parking is located within walking distance of the Passenger Building and courtesy/handicap shuttles are available. Parking fees are payable upon arrival by cash or traveler's checks onlly.

Hi kayak 99, welcome to Cruise Critic! ;) Since your relatives do not care to drive, Amtrak from Wilmington to Baltimore's Penn Station and then a taxi to the cruise terminal will be quick, easy and painless provided there are no train delays. Amtrak provides a AAA discount and also AMEX points may be redeemed for the fare. The cruise terminal is 5 miles from Penn Station and it's basically a straight shot south on St. Paul Street. Another option may be Entertainment Tours. https://www.enttours.com/cruise.aspx ;)
