Dumb snorkel questions

bingo3

Recommended Posts

My parents are going with us on a cruise to Bermuda and then we have atrip to Jamaica and none of us has experience snorkeling. I understand about getting the fitted masks, dry snorkel, etc.

Do you wear a life jacket while snorkeling, especially if off a boat somewhere? And if so, do they normally provide these?

Are the fins necesary and what is their purpose?

Thanks so much!!

The vendor will provide you with mask, snorkel, and fins. You may bring your own. Usually for insurance purposes they require you wear a vest or noodle to float. They provide that too.

The fins propel you through the water. If you swim (kick) you will get tired and using too much energy to enjoy the snorkeling.
