bobalink Posted August 22, 2010 #3 Share Posted August 22, 2010 Hello ITALIA2006 - We just returned from the Western Mediterranean cruise on the Noordam. If your member name is any indication that you are Italian, you will be pleased to know there were many Italians on our cruise, because it was a roundtrip from Rome. For information on the stateroom that you selected, you can go to the "sticky" at the top of the HAL board to look at the Noordam staterooms: http://joanjett2000.topcities.com/HAL/Noordam/index.html I prefer to book my own excursions. While in Rome, we used Romeinlimo and they were excellent. In Cannes, we used Revelation Tours. Very good. In Barcelona, we used Spanish Trails Adventure, also very good. You may want to go to your Roll Call and see if any others would like to join you on an excursion. We found several people to share the cost with, and made new friends, too. The ship's excursions are good if you don't want to do your own research. We used the HAL excursions in Palma de Mallorca and Tunisia. They were fine. Open seating works great. The food is excellent in all venues. There is Italian food (pasta and pizza) available in the Lido buffet, as well. I suggest you try Pinnacle Grill for an upscale atmosphere and dining experience. Congratulations on booking your first cruise. I hope you enjoy your vacation as much as we did. The Noordam is a nice ship and the crew were good, too. I hope to write a complete review later this week. I am still recovering from jet lag.;)
