SCUBA DIVING in Nassau

How is the diving in Nassau and can anyone recommend a charter?

The diving can be good. Stuart Cove's pretty much has the corner on the market.

There is some very good diving in Nassau. Stuart Cove has the best place on the island. Offers free pick up at the port. They are located on the other side of the island.

If you haven't tried shark diving....it is worth the price at Stuart's Cove. Too many sharks to count and you will rub against a few as they swim by, you are that close to them. A very well organized team. It is on the complete opposite side of the island from the port though...will take up your whole day.

 

Also closer to port is:The Graveyard

 

This is the location of four shipwrecks. They lie at depths from 30 to 100 feet. The wrecks, and the marine life that lives within and around them, provide for great photographic opportunities.

 

If you find a dive operator closer to port ask them to take you to the graveyard....an awesome dive....done it many times.

According to their website, Stuart Cove's has a contract with Royal Caribbean and so you have to book with them. Anyone have any thoughts on this? My husband doesn't like to dive with the ship if he doesn't have to.

Did this dive last October and going back again! My son and I did the discovery or resort dive $135/pp they pick us up at the fountain in the pink n white van. We did stop several times along the way for other divers but still had fun.

Stuart Coves is great, they have a great staff and a bunch of dive sites. The shark dive is very cool and constantly gets rave reviews from everyone that does it.
