lucinjo Posted July 3, 2011 #27 Share Posted July 3, 2011 Hey, we will be on Oct 9-20th Tauck Blue Danube - Prague to Budapest. We will probably cross paths in Regensburg as you exit the boat and we board. Too bad, it would have been fun to know someone else on our cruise. dottiejune Posted August 18, 2011 #29 Share Posted August 18, 2011 Hi: I have a friend who will be going on the Swiss Jewel River Cruise (Blue Danube) on Oct. 20, 2011. This is her first River Cruise and she has many questions to ask anyone who will be going on that cruise, or who recently went cruising on the Swiss Jewel. Please email me back if you would be willing to email her with your comments and help with her questions. Thanks in advance. SheilaNC Posted August 18, 2011 #30 Share Posted August 18, 2011 Dottie, Please suggest that your friend posts here to continue to receive comments about this wonderful cruise. Also, point her to my travel blog for the same cruise this past May. She's made a wonderful choice and we hope that she will post a review when she returns. Also, please do not post your email address on CC forums. http://budapesttoprague.blogspot.com/
Konachloe Posted September 1, 2011 #31 Share Posted September 1, 2011 Just saw your post - we are on Tauck Budapest to Prague 10/2/11 and very excited, our first river cruise, though have traveled with Tauck before - a top notch experience which we expect same on the river cruise. Did you spend any extra time in Budapest or Prague, and if so how did you spent it? We have several days in both places on either end. Also, what did you do with your free time in Vienna? Any other information appreciated - thanks! Got in last night( 1 AM ), from the Aug 12-28 cruise. It was great! Tauck really does things right. They organized great excursions with a Tauck minder plus a local tour guide for each group of aprox 20 to 30 people. The weather was great with only light rain one day. The balance was warm and sunny. The only downside was the dates and that was my chosing, so my fault. All the cities and sites we visited were very crowded, as Aug is the month everybody is on vacation. Oh, the other bad deal was Delta taking off from CDG two hours late(talk about disorganized). causing me to miss my connection into Little Rock and the late arrival into my own bed. I will be happy to answer any questions if asked.
taveller Posted October 8, 2011 #32 Share Posted October 8, 2011 Hi..we're considering a Tauck river cruise, but have never done a river cruise. I understand entertainment options will not be like large cruise ships, but typically is there a bar or lounge open later into the evening past midnight, or does everything on the ship close up by midnight? Thanks!
torst Posted October 11, 2011 #33 Share Posted October 11, 2011 We did the Danube cruise last June and, in our early fifities, were among the youngest on board. The itineraries was quite intense and people tended to disappear not too long after dinner. The bar did stay open but often by 10:30 we were were among the only or were the only ones there. I would be glad to answer any other questions.
