jjb415 Posted September 26, 2010 #27 Share Posted September 26, 2010 Did you get a chance to try the Spa Cafe? That was one of my favorite places to eat onboard. I haven't found anything that compares on Royal Caribbean for breakfast and lunch, but, I haven't sailed Oasis.

I would have needed another cruise or two to try all the venues.
linkerbink Posted September 26, 2010 #29 Share Posted September 26, 2010 Sue, what would be the RCCL equivalent to Celebrity's Concierge cabin?
Sue L Posted September 26, 2010 Author #30 Share Posted September 26, 2010 Sue, what would be the RCCL equivalent to Celebrity's Concierge cabin? Size wise it was about the same as a D on Radiance class or so. Perk wise, I think you have to go to a suite for some of them. Most were not that great but I got a great deal. The Big Booper Posted September 26, 2010 #35 Share Posted September 26, 2010 Sue - Thanks for the Solstice photos. We are used to longer cruises now so the 7 days on the Solstice in June didn't come close to giving me the time to take my usual 1,200 pictures on a 2 week cruise or try out all the places on this ship. The trip seemed to be over shortly after it started.
monn_a Posted September 26, 2010 #36 Share Posted September 26, 2010 Thats Royal luxury line, right? It's not their luxury line that would be Azamara, but it is their upscale line.
mipo777 Posted October 19, 2010 #37 Share Posted October 19, 2010 We're considering the Solstice vs the Liberty & while I'm dying to try the Liberty, its quite a bit more $$ so really giving the Solstice a look. One of the things I love about RCI is the Solarium & its general childlessness. :) Does the Solstice have anything in comparison & is it an extra fee? Basically all I'm looking for is a child free pool & hot tub & I'm a happy man.

In general higher demographic so less kids. Plus we sail when the kids are in school.
joandian Posted October 19, 2010 #39 Share Posted October 19, 2010 We were on the 'X' Eclipse the newest Solstice class ship, for a 14 day Baltic cruise this June/July and I agree the ship is magnificent. I also loved all the little bars and different areas on Eclipse. We'd find something new every day. Love the bigger bathrooms on 'X' and I love the 2 level bar deck at the back of the buffet area. It was our favourite area to sit and relax. Also loved the non-smoking casino! Jo
The Big Booper Posted October 20, 2010 #40 Share Posted October 20, 2010 Don't forget the zen music playing in the background. Creates a quiet mood.
constantcruiser Posted October 20, 2010 #41 Share Posted October 20, 2010 We've been on every RCI class, and the Jewel was always our favorite ship...until we sailed the Solstice. I agree with all the OP's comparisons between the two cruiselines, and what I like best is having the choice! When it's just DH & me, we'll stick with the quiet sophistication of Celebrity S-class. But when it's time for our annual 3-generation cruise with children & grandchildren, we'll go back to RCI. Frankly, I hope they'll never try to make both lines appeal to everyone--we enjoy each of them for different reasons.
