MikeyA53 Posted October 20, 2010 Author #1151 Share Posted October 20, 2010 I love white dresses too-wish had a better photo of one you proposed in. Check out page 9 # 176, there a few shots of her in that dress. Unfortunately none of her standing.:( My DH "teases' the same way. Another romantic like you with a sense of humor. as a result -"I'll fix that wagon" as they say--he can't comment when its in a ponytail ;). I like the analogy of Marilyn Monroe- and on a cruise ship dresses can fly up like the famous scene! Mike

beachgirl75 Posted October 20, 2010 #1155 Share Posted October 20, 2010 Hey Mikey! I missed a few posts here andthere..but what ship was it that had the awesome pool area and the Victorian lounge again? Thanks for the great review.....
MikeyA53 Posted October 20, 2010 Author #1156 Share Posted October 20, 2010 . After dinner, we returned to our cabin because Tracy was not feeling well, probably from the effects of the liquor. She decided to stay in for the night but persuaded me to join her parents for the show in the Victoriana Lounge and the comedian in the International lounge, as previously planned. We attended the early seating, 8:30 show, ‘Ticket to Ride’ a tribute to the Beatles. Absolutely the best show I have seen in all the cruises. Peter and Rosemary really enjoyed it, singing along with the vocal of Lisa Redding and Alan Swadener and later in the show, a live band, ( not the Freedom Orchestra) dressed up like the beatles. Then at 9:45 it was Jerry Goodspeed, adults only, in the International Lounge. As usual I like to sit up front, I didn’t mind if the comedian picked on us, it’s all fun, after the cruise you will probably never see the people that got a good laugh at your expense, ever again. Now back home it’s a totally different story, I’m the serious and quiet type but when I’m on vacation I like to show Tracy and the kids a different side of my personality. Well, tonight Goodspeed didn’t just pick on me, he brought me up on stage. What I didn’t know was that he was a ventriloquist. He placed his hand behind my neck and told me to move my mouth up and down every time he squeezed my neck, in other words, act like his dummy. After a few minutes of that he put a mask on my face. I didn’t know what it looked like, but Peter and Rosemary were in tears. This part of the act went on for what seemed like an eternity for me until he replaced me with his regular dummy and I was able to return to my seat. Tracy was very upset that she had missed both shows and vowed never to miss out on anything again. That evening and the next day I received comments from people in elevators, hallways and the buffet area. " Hey, it’s the dummy, we really enjoyed the show" " Look it’s monkey face, you should check if the show was videotaped, man you were funny." A similar situation occurred last year, while on vacation in Florida. Here I am singing "Go, Johnny Go". Tracy and the kids loved it. .
MikeyA53 Posted October 20, 2010 Author #1157 Share Posted October 20, 2010 Hi Mike, I just stumbled upon your thread yesterday and have been reading avidly ever since. Like so many others have expressed, I am LOVING reading you and your family's story. I'm only getting up to the renewal part now, but I just couldn't help myself, I had to post something! I can't wait to get back to it (work? what's work?). Can I also mention something else I've noticed? Considering the length of this thread and the many responses you've received, I am sooooo impressed that you have essentially responded to every single comment others have posted to you (whether individually or as a group). I think this says A LOT about the fabulous type of person you are (as if we didn't already know that, considering all that you did for your lovely wife and your love for her:)). Best wishes to you and your entire family and enjoy your cruise next year! Good luck to Tracy in her new career! Anastazia PS - I also agree with other posters who have mentioned how attractive your wife is, but let me chime in with YOU'RE HOT TOO :p (Congrats Tracy!)!! Thanks Anastazia, I love the fact that this thread is being read by new readers, some of them making comments on things that happened weeks ago in the review, re-posting old photos, etc. I also appreciate all your kind words. MikeyA53 Posted October 20, 2010 Author #1162 Share Posted October 20, 2010 . After the shows, the three of us went to the Viennese Cafe where I had my favourite dessert, Fat Carrot Cake. I love sitting in the promenade area. There's always something going on, from entertainers playing music near the casino, people all dressed up, especially on elegant nights, getting their photographs taken by cruise photographers. cruisercassidy Posted October 20, 2010 #1163 Share Posted October 20, 2010 After dinner we went to ' More than Magic" with Rand Woodbury and the Carnival dancers. Very good show. On our way back to our cabin for the night we heard our second "Bright Star" being repeated on the PA system. ?? mojo2rusty Posted October 21, 2010 #1166 Share Posted October 21, 2010 . At 5:45 p.m, the adults attended the past guest party. We were joined later by the kids, after they had heard about the hor d’oeuvres and the non-alcoholic drinks that are generally served during the party. We sat in the back of the Victoriana Lounge, in one of the wider aisles. As luck would have it, these wider aisles are frequently used by the waiters to get from one end of the theatre to the other. In other words, a considerable amount of drinks and hor d’oeuvres going by us every minute. In all I had about 10 drinks while Tracy had 3 in a little over a hour. They were small but tasty, I really enjoyed the Whiskey Sours and the Melon Balls. Tracy was also drinking Melon Balls and feeling pretty good. Will you stop taking my picture. It's time to go. Sorry, can't help myself. Oh Those little Melon Balls will sneak up on you in a hurry! That's my favorite drink at the past guest Party. They didn't have them last year, sure hope they do this year.
rpouls Posted October 21, 2010 #1167 Share Posted October 21, 2010 Sorry this is OT and don't mean to "highjack" this awesome thread, but I can't find Rosie's quote!?:confused::confused: Here it is: Just my thoughts about making your cruise a pleasant experience... Pull out that childlike awe and playfulness buried deep inside you, plan well before you cruise, choose your stateroom carefully, don't let small inconveniences upset you, explore new adventures, try new foods, talk with total strangers, participate, let yourself go and you will enjoy yourself. Be realistic about your cruise expectations, nothing is perfect, things do happen. If you cruise with a sense of entitlement, you will be disappointed. Pack your humor, imagination, childlike curiosity, flexibility and your brain. Leave your negativity and bad attitude home. Someone will be cleaning up after you all week, making your bed, delivering room service, cooking all your food and washing all your dishes, leaving cute towel animals to greet you, dazzle you with shows and demonstrations, then transport you to exotic ports of call. I follow my own suggestions whenever I cruise and ALWAYS have a great time. Mike, Well said! Going on a cruise is to enjoy each day - away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life - to enjoy time spent with your family, visiting other countries with scenery, history and customs different than our own; going on excursions and doing things that make lifetime memories (dolphin swims, catamarans, seeing Mayan ruins, etc.) - and, as you stated so well: Your beds are made daily Your meals are cooked (along with many dining options - you'll never starve on a cruise) Room service - coffee and breakfast delivered to your cabin if you wish Endless choices for entertainment Meeting new people Exploring the ship and ports of call. And just plain having a good time! It's so nice to be greeted with a smile and a warm 'Hello' on the ship, wherever you're going at the time (by both cruise employees and other passengers). I love sitting on the balcony, just relaxing and enjoying the view (and the beauty of the ocean and whatever port we're in). Getting ready for dinner each evening, talking about the day's events, and planning for the next day. To me, just being on the ship is an awesome experience. I got spoiled - went on a cruise two years in a row, now this year, have a two-year gap - counting down they days until June 18, 2011;)
