Gingee Posted February 16, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2005 The ship I had mentioned that lost it's engines was the Voyager not the Getty. Big waves, no power. Would spook me. Does it spook anyone else going on a cruise coming up?
judyf Posted February 17, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 17, 2005 Yes! I try not to think about it. Just like getting on a plane.
halos Posted February 17, 2005 #3 Share Posted February 17, 2005 Walking out the front door can be scary on occasion. I try not to dwell on negative things....you can make yourself crazy if you do...you have to realize that the chances are minimal. You're more likely to be involved in a car accident but yet no one worries when they get into a car because driving, is for the most part a necessity...SO think of your cruise as a necessary thing and as for any danger involved, fuggetaboudit!! :D
cmptrwiz Posted February 17, 2005 #4 Share Posted February 17, 2005 I'm hoping our cruise ship quits working, then I can get a longer vacation. "Sorry boss I'm late my cruise ship was stranded in the ocean!" I just hope Carnival doesn't try to charge us more money if our one week turns into 10 days!:)
divadiverfl Posted February 17, 2005 #5 Share Posted February 17, 2005 If this happened, We would be ready. We always bring our scubadiving gear wherever we travel especially on a cruise( go play in the water instead of being stuck in our cabin w/o power--that is if the waves have calmed down). Also, if food ran out we always bring snacks for when we go on the dive boats. Crackers anyone? Don't worry--like they say--the most dangerous trip about flying is the trip to the airport from your home.
