Any of the Novotel properties would suit your needs. Their prepaid rates can offer some amazing "bargains" for 4* properties.

 

They are all modern, with good-sized rooms. Breakfast buffets are great.

 

I especially liked the the Novotel St Pancras.

Surely, it wasn't my Hilton.

 

 

Everything was in working order in the loo, and the room itself was huge for London standards.

 

Guess it's the luck of the draw.

 

Must have been the Park Lane Hilton. :)

A bit too pricey for this solo traveler's blood. 419GBP/nite for a "deluxe" vs 174GBP for a "club" room at the Copthorne Tara.

The Hilton was great for a couple nights traveling with my late wife, but Copthorne's a "no brainer" for me for a week precruise.

Even better: a large studio apt at Basil Street Apartments (catty corner behind Harrods) at 210GBP/nite is a true bargain.

Stayed there last time, may do again. It's much easier to not have all your meals out.
