AlaskaFan05 Posted September 28, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 28, 2010 My DW and I plan on taking my parents on the Glory next year for a 4 day cruise and Im wondering if the oceanview cabins have fridge's in them? My parents are diabetic and take insulin a couple times a day so the insulin needs to be kept cool. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Can't speak to this ship specifically, but I do know that when cabins come with minibars standard, they are more like coolers than fridges. You *should* contact Guest Services and explain the situation and see if you can get a medical fridge (as in an actual mini-fridge like you'd find in a college dorm room) for them. If not, they can make arrangements to store their meds in a medical fridge usually at Guest Services.
Poomah Posted September 28, 2010 #3 Share Posted September 28, 2010 Please check with your pharmacist/physician - most insulins no longer need to be refrigerated. Last year while still taking it I never refrigerated mine once it came home from the pharmacy (per instructions)
jmitch1965 Posted September 28, 2010 #4 Share Posted September 28, 2010 Ours didn't, but I'd go direct to Carnival for a concern like that, not base it off what other cruisers may or may not of had. Glory, don't recall cabin but it was one of the extended balcony ones all the way aft.
