Bayahibe Beach Break - what's the name of the resort?

I've spent way too much time trying to find the name of the resort/hotel that is used for the Bayahibe Beach Break on Carnival. Can anyone tell me the name of it it? It's always referred to as "resort", but no name is mentioned. I'd like to do my research/read reviews on the place before I book the excursion. Has anybody been? What do you think?

I sent an email to shoreexcursions@carnival.com back in July because I wanted the same information. They replied immediately with the name of the resort. It's Oasis Canoa. It is on the coast, on the outskirts in the village of Bayahibe. It is not walking distance from the Fishing Village.

Hope that helps!:)

Thanks so much for the info. Someone on my roll call said he thought it was the Oasis Canoa, as well. I just wanted to confirm it and you did. Yep, I read the TripAdvisor reviews as well,,,,,about the first 6 full pages of reviews. Yes, you will always find a few bad reviews on 5 star resorts and will find rave reviews on 2 star resorts. But, when the majority of the reviews are not so great, then it makes me wonder.

I agree. Didn't look very good to me. And it isn't close to the fishing village which sounds rather quaint. We sailing November 19th. I keep waiting for "new' posts on La Romana but so far nothing.

I doubt if you're going to see any posts on La Romana until we get back from our cruise. We are the first cruise that will be stopping in La Romana. We'll be back on 10/26. I plan on coming back to this thread to report when I get back. Still not sure what to do yet. Food isn't included in the Bayahibe beach break, altho from what I've read, it sounds inedible. The mixed drinks had bad reviews as well. But, the reviews do say that the beach itself is very pretty. I can't believe Carnival advertises it as a 5 star resort. I'm trying to justify paying $70 to have a few beers and 3 hours of beach time through Carnival. Some of us (including me....I think??) are going to Dreams La Romana. It's close (approx. 12-15 miles from the ship), but we'd have to take a local taxi to get there. I'm leary about doing that at this port. I wish we were going somewhere else besides DR.
