I have been upgraded from a balcony in category BF to a balcony in category BB on the caribe deck close to the front port side. I understand the balcony is larger on this deck but does it have some privacy from others looking down or is it completely open to those above?

If I book a balcony room - the Caribe deck is where I go. Better sized balcony with 1/2 open and 1/2 covered. This is a good upgrade!:)

The Caribe balconies on the Ruby are twice the size of the balconies on the other decks. You get a table and 4 chairs, 2 which recline. Half is under cover and half open. It's a great ship and great deck.

IMHO...very good choice. My husband and I only book caribe deck balcony rooms on any ship. You will love it.

Same thing happened with me. I booked a BF guar and they upgraded me to a BB catagory. Only I did some more searching and the BB 752 on the Caribe was available in the aft. I switched my room and locked it in. So ended up with a prime piece of real estate for a BF guar price!!

We booked a BB on caribe for our cruise on the Ruby next March. Great to read positive posts aregarding this cabin.
