I will be visiting this port for the first time in Sept. 2011, and I need some suggestions on local tour operators and what the best things to do in the area? City tours? Beaches? Eco tours? anything else fun? All suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

Take the city bus to St James church, right near Folkestone Park. There is not much of a beach there, but the snorkeling is great. The park is really pretty also. Barbados is a great island and the people are so friendly.

I agree, very easy to self tour this port!

My husband and me and another couple did the snorkle with turtles. It was awsome. The tour is with priviate tour company Ocean Adventures/Silver Moon Cruises and website is www.silvermoonbarbados.com

They took really good care of us and there is only 12 people on catamaran. Food was good and crew was great. Drinks are also included.
