Please Tell me about Cruise's to NOWHERE????

First... they're quite expensive as compared to any other cruise. I paid more for a CTN on the Dream as I pay for a five day cruise on the Ecstasy.

Next, don't judge the experience against any other. There's a lot of partying. Folks try to pack a week of fun in one night.

Also, there is no customs inspection upon return so feel free to load up on the tax free, duty free liquor!!!

They do count toward Platinum... as much as any other cruise does...

They do count. Generally, they are pretty much booze/gambling cruises. They go out.... spin around the ocean over night then return to port.

so they go no where... :D

1) Special? Not really. Think of it like a "ride". You pack up the car and just go.

2) Yes

3) I would assume there is no difference. The only hiccup I could forsee are more people are on the ship 24/7. So times for room service, dinner etc may be a little longer.

4) Well you are on the ship 24/7 so in theory yes.

If you go let us know how it was. :D

Is there anything special about thease?

Do they count towards the magic number 10?

Do you get better service?

Do you get to hang with the crew more?

On Carnival, as the program stands now, all cruises count as one, whether they are 15 days or 2. So yes, they count as one of the 10. These are frequently used to increase number of cruises for milestone and VIP cruising.

There was talk about changing the program to be days at sea vs 1 cruise any length, but as of now, it is not changed. That means you could take (10) 2 or 3 day cruises and make Platinum for much less money than someone who books (10) 7 day cruises.

Not totally fair but until they change it, you can do it. Many other lines have changed their programs to be "days at sea" and "extra points" depending on how much you spend on board.

Carnival was talking about changing it but I think they get into what to do about the people who did have 10 cruises with (30 sea days) vs people who have 10 cruises with (70 + sea days). It is not starting the new program with "You need 100 sea days to be Platinum", it is how to "grandfather in" the Platinum members without taking away benefits from the people with less sea days in the program as it stands now.

They have been saying that there will be a "new" program for 2 years, but no changes yet.

CtN cruise up and down the coast== far enough out so they can open the stores and casino.

there are no porters so you gotta handle your own luggage on and off the ship.

you are charged the gratuity BEFORE your cruise and you can not go to the pursers desk to reverse the charges.

There IS an elegant night. you will get to see two of the vegas style shows- one on each night. Breakfast/lunch and dinner are the same as it would be on a longer cruise.

Yes, I agree that these CTN costs a lot --sometimes costing more then if you went somewhere. Yes, they do count towards the Platiunum status.

The ctn always seemed to hit rough waters.

have you priced a CTN? way more then I would pay. So much money for a weekend cruise. A CTN in the cheapest inside cabin is a tad less then 400pp for 79.pp more I am taking a cruise out of Baltimore for 7 days
