vvnh16a Posted October 25, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 25, 2010 We are planning on renting a car in Cherbourg for a day and just wondering if the strikes in France will make it difficult to refuel the car upon its return??

Fblack Posted October 26, 2010 #4 Share Posted October 26, 2010 There are several gas stations as you return towards the City nearing the pier. At worst, just return the car empty.
catllar Posted October 27, 2010 #5 Share Posted October 27, 2010 I can't find anything posted as far as blockades are concerned for your date. Hopefully by then all the gas stations will have been replenished. The protests seem to be quieting down now as the law has been passed and it's a done deal. Finger crossed for you. catllar Posted October 27, 2010 #6 Share Posted October 27, 2010 Just heard on the news tonight that Cherbourg refinery is still closed. Call for strike tomorrow 28th October. Not sure where this is going as the law which started all the fuss has been voted through. Strikes and blockades are gradually going away though. This might mean you could have a bit of a problem as it will take a few days for things to get back to normal and all the stations to get gassed up.
