Walkable from Ship?

We were in Barbados and walked from town back to the ship. (We were on a tour that dropped us back in town). The merchants said it was a 15 minutes walk. However, it took about 45 minutes and thought we were goin to miss the departure. Made it just in time.

When we were there last year, we planned on walking. Wanted to get the exercise. After turning down one after the other taxi's drivers. We got a couple blocks from the ship and along came a man on a bicycle with a cart behind us. We just couldn't turn him down. I don't remember the price, but it was well worth it and amazing how strong his legs must be. Here is a photo:
