FIRSTLAKE Posted November 1, 2010 #1 Share Posted November 1, 2010 Do flights on Air Tahiti into LAX usually arrive on time? Since we have to clear customs etc in LAX is 2 hour layover long enough for a domestic connection? Thanks
Kuikahi Posted November 1, 2010 #2 Share Posted November 1, 2010 From my research, it looks as if 2 hours will not be enough for a domestic connection. I plan to allow 3 hours. I can't speak to the ATN on-time arrival history, but the folks at ATN reservations are very friendly and may be able to give you stats.
coldweathergirl Posted November 2, 2010 #3 Share Posted November 2, 2010 Our TA doesn't recommend less than 3 hours and if you have interruption insurance but don't allow sufficient time for a connection they won't cover you. We had the same question as we have to fly back up to Winnipeg. I contemplated staying overnight in LAX on the way back but thought I'd go all the way back to Wpg then have a good sleep there before continuing on my 5 hour car ride to get home. FIRSTLAKE Posted November 2, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted November 2, 2010 Thanks I think you both are right- especially now with all the heightened security. It will be a long travel day on the return home !!
dande88 Posted November 2, 2010 #5 Share Posted November 2, 2010 FYI We arrived this past Sunday right on schedule at 11am...however there were many other international flights arrivals at the same time. Lines at customs was kinda nightmarish at LAX. We were finally outta there at about 1230p
