mycruise2 Posted November 1, 2010 #1 Share Posted November 1, 2010 Does anyone know if there is a post office near the port at Cartagena? We purchase stamps for our neighbor's collection from everywhere we can internationally. Thanks!
Host Caroline Posted November 1, 2010 #2 Share Posted November 1, 2010 Some ships we've been on sell stamps that you can use to mail postcards etc. home for the countries they visit.. not sure which cruise line you are on or if Colombia would let them do that? just a thought... mycruise2 Posted November 2, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted November 2, 2010 We're on Jewel of the Seas and if we can't find a post office nearby I will take your suggestion about purchasing one on board. Most times we are able to even find collectors items at the post offices. First day covers etc. We expect to get to the old town and will ask our driver/guide. It has been fun over the years trying to find stamps! I googled and found addresses but have not yet determined if those addresses are near the port. Thanks! dwick Posted November 23, 2010 #4 Share Posted November 23, 2010 Inside the port shopping center there is a stand that sells a nice variety of stamps. Behind the stand there is a mail box where you can deposit mail. The attendant can tell you all about the mail system. There is a post office in town but it's easier to mail at the port. The stand is located just to the left of the door where you go out to catch taxis. Enjoy your visit to Cartagena.
