Safety question

SanKay

Recommended Posts

Is there any place that we should avoid walking to or around while we are in port? We don't arrive until 4:30 p.m. and the ship leaves around midnight. We are interested in seeing the history and culture of San Juan.

Thanks!

Old San Juan is generally safe (of course, use common sense).

The only area to avoid is La Perla ... which is on the north coast of OSJ, outside of the old city wall. To the east of El Morro and the cemetery. And to the west of Fort San Cristobal.

You really can't wonder into it "by accident" ... so there's no real concern.
