dbail4 Posted November 6, 2010 #1 Share Posted November 6, 2010 How far is Crane Beach from the Pier? How much by Taxi? Can we take a bus? Is there a Fee to get on the beach?
maxs mom Posted November 7, 2010 #2 Share Posted November 7, 2010 It's been a while since we've been out to Crane Beach, but it is without a doubt, our favorite beach. It is just stunning! It is about a 45 minute cab ride and as best as I can remember. It was about $60 round trip. We split that with another couple, so it wasn't too bad. You can enter the beach through the public access area. Just a little tricky to do that because you have to walk over a rocky area. If you go through the hotel....I believe you pay $25 which is applicable towards lunch, etc. at the hotel. To this day.....the one time we went out to Crane Beach.....remains our most favorite beach experience in the Caribbean!! Go for it!!
dbail4 Posted November 7, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted November 7, 2010 Did the cab come back for you? Is there a bus?
maxs mom Posted November 7, 2010 #4 Share Posted November 7, 2010 Oh yes.....the cab driver came back for us.....was right on time. They all do that......pretty reliable. That particular day.....we didn't pay him until the end of the day! We were hungry then, so he took us to a place nearer the ship to have a flying fish sandwich. We liked him so much that we bought him one, too. This restaurant was near the Boatyard.....that's when we decided that the Boatyard is NOT the place to go in Barbados.....especially since we had just been out to Crane. What a difference! You caould probably take a bus, but I don't think it would let you off too close to Crane. I would think it would be a long bus ride. Find another couple to share the taxi with you! Can'tstopcruising Posted November 7, 2010 #5 Share Posted November 7, 2010 Was there adequate shade? Were you able to go into the water? Thanks!
maxs mom Posted November 7, 2010 #6 Share Posted November 7, 2010 We were able to get two chairs and an umbrella. We require shade so that was not a problem. The surf here is very rough. To me......that's a lot of fun! We all enjoyed getting in the water here, but you need to be careful.
