Handicap in Costa Rica

We will be stopping in Costa Rica in December and two people in our party are handicapped, one in a power wheel chair and one in a regular wheel chair. Will they have trouble getting around the city? We are not looking to take any tranportation, just walking (riding) around. Thanks for your help, just want to be prepared.

We were not planning any touring, just walking around. We will be in Puerto Limon. Sailing on the Zuiderdam.
