lady in tx Posted November 20, 2010 #1 Share Posted November 20, 2010 I was wondering if it would be possible to take a collectivo to Uxmal for our upcoming cruise. From my search on the threads they are at the corner of Calle 80 & 29 in Progreso but I wasn't sure if I would be able to come across another one at Uxmal. So I was wondering if I could catch a taxi at Uxmal just in case I wouldn't be able to find a collectivo there. I wasn't sure if the ADO bus runs by Uxmal but that would be another cheap alternative. (I have no problems using collectivos, I have used them in the past i.e. Playa, & Cancun) Any help will be greatly appreciated.
WilliamLawson Posted November 20, 2010 #2 Share Posted November 20, 2010 I am not entirely familiar with the colectivos schedules, but I suspect that you would need to take a colectivo to Merida and then another to Uxmal. Same thing for the trip back. I would not use this because of the fact that you need to be back at a certain time and colectivos will wait until their van is full before leaving anywhere. This at Uxmal will be difficult at best.

Whumcruise Posted February 13, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 13, 2011 That would be a waste of time to check, wait, then have several stops, etc....would not do that to save a couple of bucks honestly...if it was Playa del Carmen to go to Tulum, that's another story and very easy, straight forward.
ginjam70 Posted February 16, 2011 #5 Share Posted February 16, 2011 We saw a lot of them but immediately taxi drivers tried to get our business. I think it would not be a problem to take one of those colectivos
