Items to bring on ship

As someone who just took their first cruise and got off the ship yesterday, I would say I wish I brought an extension cord and a hair dryer. Also the bungee sounds like a good idea, although I don't know how much I would use it. Don't forget playing cards, if that's your thing.

Like others said: Just bringing a positive attitude and going with the flow is the best thing you can do. Have a great time!

In case others don't know, you can pick up a free deck of cards on the ship from guest services (and the casino, I think).

Besides the standard stuff, things we take and always use: all sizes of ziplocs, insulated mugs for hot or cold bevs, small collapsible cooler, & extension or power cord.

A notepad is essential for me since Carnival does not give you the free memo pad in the room anymore (although they do give you a free pen). The notepad is to leave notes in the room for family to let them know where we are and is also helpful if we need to leave the room steward a note. I also make notes for the review I hope to write at the end of each cruise (sometimes happens, sometimes doesn't, but at least I have some notes).:)

I am looking for a list of items that we will need to bring with us to make life easier on the cruise, and on the excursions. I don't want to overlook something.

Since your luggage may not appear at your cabin door for a few hours after embarkation, pack your swimsuit and pool items (sunscreen, etc.) in your carry-on. Then you can enjoy the pool until your cabin is ready and luggage arrives. Embarkation day is typically the least crowded day for the pools--a great time to enjoy them.
