Miami Beach using Priceline?

I'm considering using Priceline and trying Miami Beach?

Any luck with hotels?

Bid $69 for 4* and got The Palms. In addition to the room rate had to pay $12 daily resort fee plus tax. http://www.thepalmshotel.com/

We got 4 rooms at the Hyatt Regency (3*) for 52.00 plus tax each! I'm hearing pretty good reviews of this hotel as well.

I bid $50 and got the South Beach Holiday Inn Resort

Two times (pre-cruise and post-cruise) I bid $55 for the 3 star Miami Beach area and both times got the Four Points Sheraton in Miami Beach. I actually tried bidding lower the 2nd time ($50 and $53) but my bids were not accepted until I bid $55.

we are traveling memorial day weekend sailing Saturday - I know we will pay more for our friday night stay but I am confused as to where to stay.

 

there are at least 10 miami locations on priceline do I put in for Miami Beach? Is that the closest to the port or the nicest to stay?

 

How big is Miami? Is a cab more than $25 to the port from Miami Beach?

 

If you know please share with me how I should put in my priceline request.

The closest hotels to the port in Miami are Downtown.

 

Also, go over the http://www.biddingfortravel.com, under FLORIDA-MIAMI HOTELS. You can read some past experience threads and also ask for "professional" Priceline help there.
