farmersescape Posted November 30, 2010 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2010 I read the slides are not always open on port days....is this true? Is there a height requirement? I might cancel my RCL Freedom OTS and book this ship and the deciding factor are these slides. Thanks for your help!
*Mach* Posted November 30, 2010 #2 Share Posted November 30, 2010 The height requirement is 42 inches... The availability of the slides varies a bit by ship but I have mostly seen them open in port... :)
spencercoop Posted December 1, 2010 #3 Share Posted December 1, 2010 I was just on the Dream and the Waterworks park was scheduled to be open every day from 9-6pm except embarkation day and the day in Nassau. It was closed a few of the days because of high winds.
Starfire_rules Posted December 1, 2010 #4 Share Posted December 1, 2010 Everyday we were in port the slides were open. Just on sea days when the wind was gusting was the largest slides open. The 'racing' slides and the kiddy area were open these days.
k2excursion Posted December 1, 2010 #5 Share Posted December 1, 2010 When we were on, the only times the slides were closed that we could tell was on the final sea day until 2:00pm, as the winds were way too strong earlier in the day. The slides were so much fun! We usually returned to the ship early from port, and the slides were open. I love waterslides; it's the big thing that keeps me from trying RCCL. I'd love to try them, but it's hard to choose them when they don't have waterslides. I was just on the Dream and the Waterworks park was scheduled to be open every day from 9-6pm except embarkation day and the day in Nassau. I'll be taking that itinerary on the Dream next year. What hours were the slides open or not open on the day in Nassau? I was thinking of using that as a day of having the ship & slides to myself. Maybe not anymore. I didn't personally check if the slides were open the day we were in Nassau, but according to the Fun Times, they were not open the whole day. Hopefully, they just stick that in the Fun Times to try to get everyone off the ship, but then open them anyway.
