Best Beach? Best Shopping? 1st time cruiser

Orient Beach is long, attractive and has many activities (jet skis, water trampolines and slides) and restaurants to choose from (but snorkeling is poor). Dawn Beach has better snorkeling but fewer other activities and restaurant choices.

The best shopping is in Phillipsburg (near the cruiseship dock).

The choice of beach is pretty subjective. More info about what type of beach (even examples) you enjoy would help.

What kind of lunch? Sit down three course, or a plate of ribs and a cold beer?

Shopping. For what? Diamonds, beach wear, liquor, table cloths, 'local' art?

More input provides better output.

What's the best beach on the island? We are looking for fun stuff to do on the beach - snorkeling, jet skis, etc. Also place for lunch on the beach? Also, wheres the best shopping?

ORIENT BEACH is the most popular beach on the island and has everything you're asking for, and go to downtown PHILIPSBURG for shopping.

Just back from our Legend cruise. I would definitely recommend the Orient Beach. We spend about half the day there, and our only regret was we had to leave. Beautiful, warm water, plenty of chairs and drinks to be had. Yes there are the nude walkers. Kinda funny when you see someone from the cruise ship later that you recognize as a nudist. We didn't see Brad Pitt or Jennifer, only grandma and grandpa. You'll feel good about your body when you get back.

We were at the Bikini bar area. Our taxi driver was great, dropped us off and returned when we asked. We had lunch in Margot and shopped a little, then back to Phillipsburg for more shopping. Skip the shopping and enjoy the beach!

Hope that is helpful, have fun and enjoy the Legend. Nice ship!
