We were on the Sky last weekend. We arrived at the port at 11:15 and were checked in and onboard by 11:40. It was so smooth and easy. Couldn't believe it. We had a fantastic time. You MUST see the comedian Rich's show. It was so funny!

Most NCL ships will start boarding at noon, with cabins ready around 2 PM. There is typically a place on the ship where you can check your carry on bags if you like, or keep them with you until 2PM. One of the main dining rooms will be open for lunch, as well as the buffet (which will be a zoo). :)
