Everglades Tour?

We will have a car, so we're not interested in the ones that pick you up at the hotels, but can anyone recommend a good tour we can pick up on our own? There are so many airboat tours, etc. on Google that it just looks like a crapshoot! I checked Trip Advisor too and that wasn't much help.

If you have a car go west to Shark Valley. There you can rent bikes and bike the 15 mile flat loop...this is very very flat. At the halfway point is a tower with some incredible views of the Glades, a few vending machines and a water fountain although you should bring tons of water if you plan to bike. The other option here is to take the 2 hour tram tour. You will be VERY close to gators either way.

 

For airboating, you can't go wrong with Coppertown. If you can swing it, I recommend taking the smaller private airboat experience. If your up to it, some incredibly fresh frog legs are served here.
