tips for Island Marketing

doing the west bay beach break, do we need to tip on top of paying for the excursion? It seems like only a ride out and back which we pay for. Anyone know?

No you do not "need" to tip a driver. That is indeed what you paid for upfront. A drive to a beach. Tips in my mind are for services above and beyond what you pay for. If this was a guided tour, you could tip your guide if he/she did a great job and added a lot to your experience.

Now, that being said, some people do give drivers a tip. Usually 10% or so. It is totally up to you and what you feel good about. But no need to worry that your choice is right or wrong here.;)

The employees do make a salary based on their island standards. It isn't like waitresses in the states who depend on tips to at least make minimum wage. The U.S. is strange in that custom.
