Holetown beach and shopping?

If you went to Holetown to spend the day at the beach are the shops close by? Which beach should you ask to be dropped off at and is there a restaurant close by that has good food? I want to make sure we have a restroom facility available, would like to do a little shopping, eat something, let the 4 yr. old in our party play in the water and sand and just relax. If not in Holetown where should we go, are we better off shopping in Bridgetown by the port and going to Lobster Alive for the beach? I am so confused about the new ports we are visiting this time. We don't want to do major shopping, just some small souvenirs.
