Cabin 8068 on QM2

Hi everyone!

 

I just booked a cruise w/ cabin 8068, and although I know it's an obstructed B6 category, I was wondering how bad a view it really is. From the deck diagram, it looks like it has a view between 2 lifeboats, so that it might not be too bad. Can anyone give me any details about this cabin?? Thanks!!

We cruised on the QM II 2/19-26 so things are still fresh in our minds. My in-laws had balcony stateroom no. 8022 and our friends had balcony stateroom no. 8057 - both obstructed views. But yes, indeed, you can see fine between the two lifeboats. The rooms were delightful - nice size, very bright and made us very jealous. Cunard would not allow our family of 4 to book a balcony room. They said the maximum capacity is 3, even though 2 of our family members are under 12 years old. The balcony rooms have a Queen size bed and a sofabed. I believe you'll enjoy your balcony stateroom, and your balcony as well. You'll love the cruise and the beautiful ship. :) :)

I've been upgraded from an inside atrium to Cabin 8088. The obstructed view is measured at 100% on the correspondance sent, but as I view it, if you take out New York harbour, what is there to see on a 6 Day Transatlantic in October, other than cold, grey sea? Added to that, the cabin size is much bigger.

 

Anyway, I'll be sat in the casino / bar / theatre most of the time :D

Thanks everyone for your replies. It will be the first time to cruise w/ a balcony, so while the view might not be perfect, I'm looking forward to the extra space and brightness.

The view stinks. Change decks. That would be my advise.

I was on the Nov 6th sailing & had cabin 8065. The view is not great, but being on deck 8 has it's advantages & is very conviently located to most areas of the ship. We were only right around the corner from the elevator ( which you do not hear at all) & the stairwell to deck 7 which leads right to the Kings Court & the Wintergarden. Also on deck 8 is Todd English & the Library which has spectacular views.

So the down side is no great view from your balcony, just go down one flight of stairs to deck 7 and go out on the promenade deck.
