WATER TEMP on Stone Island?

thanks for the info

taking an excursion to Stone Island and one of the activites to choose from is snorkling so wasnt sure if the temp would be warm enough this time of year to bring our own.

it was a bit cool when we have been in December.

i agree with the opinion that stone island is not the place to snorkle. the beach and surrounding area is all sand, no rocks or other formations that would make snorkling worth while. it is a great beach for kids because of the nice sand bottom and gradual slope. our kids had a blast boogie boarding,horse back riding and ejoying the relaxing day at the beach. it is not a resort area. the restaurants are simple buildings right on the sand. we loved stone island, but it is not for snorkling.

We hit Stone Island last spring break. It is not for everyone. We had a great time horseback riding and having lunch on the beach. Just from what I remember and what others have said it really isn't a place to snorkel. To be honest I am not sure I would swim there either the water looks ok but the there was a lot of debris. Hope this helps.
