ocntscha Posted January 21, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2011 I'm looking for a beach with big waves. You know, the kind that are roaring and come rolling in and lick way up onto the beach. Its what I like. Anyone know where I can find that on Grand Caymen? East end? Thank you, Tom
drew sailbum Posted January 21, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 21, 2011 You won't likely find big waves breaking on shore in Grand Cayman unless the weather is so bad that cruise ships cannot visit. The beaches in East End have a barrier reef offshore which makes the waves break well offshore. Occasionally when there is a nor'wester then waves will be breaking all along Seven Mile Beach. But those days are the days when ships must divert to the alternate tendering site or bypass the island entirely.
