Passport stamped in Mexico

I'll preface this by saying I heard this information a few years ago. I believe you would probably have to seek out a Customs/Immigration official at the port (at a government office?) and have them stamp your passport, or leave your passport with the Purser and they will have it stamped when the Customs/Immigration official comes aboard to clear the ship. You may want to ask someone at the information desk about this.
