Veendam-Hand Towels & Small Napkins

I just got off the Veendam on Sunday, Jan. 23/11. I hadn't cruised since Dec./09, on the Prinsendam. I was disappointed that the hand towels in the restrooms on the Veendam were now thin, small, towels that actually felt rough on my hands. There used to be lovely thick towels that were on the ships on my previous cruises.

Also, for afternoon tea in the dining room, the napkins, although of a soft material, were now actually smaller than half the size of the dinner napkins. They didn't cover very much, so if you spilled something, it would fall on your clothes. I usually ended up using two napkins, as one was so small. Are these just more cost-cutting measures?

Tea napkins at tea time seem appropriate. This was our first HAL trip, so I have nothing to compare the hand towels with, but they appeared perfectly adequate to me. Certainly didn't affect our overall total enjoyment of this wonderful cruise to Antartica.
