aczi16 Posted February 1, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 1, 2011 Visiting Barbados on the Emerald Princess in April. I visited Paynes Bay but all i remember is that the waves are quite small (good-ish thing) and Tiger Woods was married a little ways down... How far away are they from the cruise dock, Bridgetown? (Which one is closer) Which has better snorkeling? (more of a beginner-ish. not many deadly/scary animals) Which has better beaches? (no seaweed, no pebbles everywhere, sandy bottom, etc) Which has better view- picture perfect areas? (mountains/huge rocks in the water/islands in sight) Which has less people, or at least not crazy crowded? Thank you! =]

sunsetterr Posted February 2, 2011 #3 Share Posted February 2, 2011 Hi There batts rock is very nice, but the water can be a little rocky .It is closer to the pier than Paynes bay. To me the best beach close to the pier is carlisle bay, sandy bottom , and you can snorkel, not too far out there are 3 sunken ships . You can either swim out to them or there is a " shuttle boat " that takes you out . i think pay $ 20 per person . large rocks in the sea etc.......not much of that unlees you go to the east coast which is farther away and not good for swimming ( very rough water )...
