roddyW Posted February 4, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 4, 2011 Hi , Joining Azura tomorrow, flying to Barbados with Thomas Cook. Cabin luggage is a very measly 5kg, almost the weight of my bag itself! Can anyone comment on whether the baggage allowance is strictly enforced by Thomas Cook? Many thanks

Many thanks In my experience the luggage weight can be enforced by the Airline but more commonly the Airport(s) you are travelling through. Perhaps you can provide the airports? I always carry a small backpack in lieu of a handbag and cram any heavy stuff (chargers and the like) in there with camera, phone etc.
Quercus Posted February 5, 2011 #3 Share Posted February 5, 2011 You are allowed the 5kg weight within the size specified, now some actually weigh it some don't, some check the size some don't, you are allowed ONE PIECE each, that is it, this includes handbags/backpacks/ whatever. If you try & take more it depends on the check-in person, some say NO some don't care, BUT do you want to risk it? Officially you CANNOT buy any excess luggage allowance, but I know those who say they have. If you get the wrong person you could end up having to throw stuff away, so...do you feel lucky...
