mcwebber Posted February 10, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 10, 2011 Does anyone know if they have wine tasting on the Victory? Or Martini tasting? Any wine tasting pictures? I think there was a thread about martini tasting just yesterday. And there are several huge Victory cruise reviews recently posted.
MindTheGap1918 Posted February 10, 2011 #3 Share Posted February 10, 2011 Yes! There is a wine seminar on the Victory on your sea day. I believe it started at 1PM. It's great, we loved it! It takes place in the Atlantic Dining room and no reservation required. There is a $10 charge, but totally worth it. They explain the different types of wine, pairing, how to store, etc.

aqusis Posted February 10, 2011 #6 Share Posted February 10, 2011 That looks like soo much fun! Do all ships offer this? Elation in particular. The Elation did do the wine tasting last week. I dont remember what day it was but it was mid afternoon and listed in the Fun Times. There was not a Martini tasting though, much to my disappointment. I was SHOCKED to say the least! I was expecting maybe a shot glass full, but not 5 full glasses! Eat lunch before if you're a lightweight! :p

PlanoTim Posted February 11, 2011 #10 Share Posted February 11, 2011 We're on the Conquest in April. Does anyone know when the wine tasting is usually held on the Conquest? I'd like to know. Thanks.
luv-my-kids Posted February 11, 2011 #11 Share Posted February 11, 2011 Looks like alot of fun. I wonder if its cheap wine or pretty good wine. Nevermnd...I think I answered my own question. (I had to put my glasses on to read) It looks like it said under the first glass Woodbridge White Zinfandel . If I am correct that is very cheap wine. Still may be fun for $10.00. But I was hoping for a little better quality. Woodbridge White Zinfandel California (Bottle size is 750 unless indicated in title above) Other products by Woodbridge reviews Item #: 086003841857-07 Our Price: $3.95 1 to 3 days to ship Note: If ADD to CART button is missing, item is out of stock or back-ordered. MindTheGap1918 Posted February 11, 2011 #12 Share Posted February 11, 2011 I believe one of the other brands was Fetzer too, I know I didn't recognize some of the others. It's definitely not vintage barrel or anything like that. To spend $10 for 5 glasses of wine and a fun couple of hours is worth it.

Mel1322 Posted February 11, 2011 #14 Share Posted February 11, 2011 They are huge pours! I guess they can do that when they are not really expensive wine. I plan on going on our upcoming cruise, it should be fun.
pjinaz Posted February 11, 2011 #15 Share Posted February 11, 2011 You got lucky with those pours. We have done the Carnival wine tasting twice and I can tell you we didn't get anywhere near that amount of wine. I would have fallen over on my way out of there. sassy1ja Posted February 11, 2011 #16 Share Posted February 11, 2011 We did the martini tasting on the Glory last year and felt it was worth the money. We weren't he only ones as the bar was packed when this was going on. Sorry can't remember the cost maybe around $12 for 4 different kinds? The wine tasting was in the middle of the day and the martini was at night at a much better time.

They gave you some food to try the wine with and there literally wasn't enough wine to do all the different sips --- with cheese, with steak . . . etc. I was disappointed. Also they always do 3 whites and 2 reds . . . I am a red wine drinker so I would rather have 3 reds and 2 whites but I'm glad I did it once. It was $15 plus tax and gratuity on the Dream --- about $18 total

CruiseinNJ Posted February 12, 2011 #19 Share Posted February 12, 2011 We had martini tasting last yearon the Pride - 5 for $15. If you didn't want one kind, you could get 2 of a different one.
OhioGramsey Posted February 12, 2011 #20 Share Posted February 12, 2011 We did the wine tasting on the Fantasy this past Nov. and had glasses that were about 2/3 full. The wine was served with cheese, crackers, sugar and lemon slices for $10.00 no tips. Held on the first sea day we had to make reservations.
