sunpsyche Posted March 4, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 4, 2005 Yes, we've been there. it's been so long I don't have any brochures or info that i could share with you...sorry! It's in Santo Domingo. Try doing a search on google for either: Casa del Cordon, or Diego Columbus (his brother...Christopher never lived there). The castle itself is amazing inside. Lots of treasures...armour...gold. The details on the cabinetry were truely breathtaking. It dates from 1509, I believe. Also interesting churches in the vicinity, be sure to wear a skirt....no pants allowed in churches! Twaincruisers Posted March 4, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 4, 2005 My DW and I made the relatively long trek to SD to see the Columbus museum and it was very interesting. We enjoy history and especially Spanish architecture in the W. Hemisphere. You'll enjoy the view, the square, the church, and, of course, the building itself. Here is one link to a little information: http://www.10best.com/Santo_Domingo/Leisure_Activities/Sightseeing/?businessID=60367
